Programme and Training Team

Gillian is chair of this team which has two different strands: programme and training

Pat - Treasurer - looks after the money!

The programme team consists of:

Val and Sheena - Team Leaders - for the Programme side of the newly formed Programme and Training Team  
Kay - Arts Adviser - heads up the team of Division Arts Advisers and the Music Adviser.  Looks after and co-ordinates use of the County Resources and Arts Crates
Katherine - County Camp Adviser - whose aim is to oversee the Outdoor Camping Qualifications.  For Guiders and Commissioners arrange training on camping skills.  To plan and organise activity days for the girls.
Sue - County Brownie Holiday Adviser - whose aim is to oversee the Outdoor Holiday Qualifications.  For Guiders and Commissioners arrange training on the Brownie Holiday Skills. To plan and organise activity days for the girls.    
Christine and Clare - Duke of Edinburgh Award Advisers - Supports any girls working on their DofE awards whether signed up through their schools or through Guiding and to help Guiders who are helping girls that are working on their DofE.

 

 

Sally-Ann and Vicky - International Advisers

 

Jean - Walking Adviser - whose aim is to arrange walks and hikes within the County for Guiders, Commissioners and the Girls.  Arrange training on the walking safety, compass and map reading skills.
Sue - Water Adviser - whose aim is to oversee the Swimming Qualifications and water safety within the County. To plan and organise Swimming Galas when required.  
Jean - Queen's Guide Coordinator - supports girls working on their Queens Guide awards.

 

Christine and Clare - Duke of Edinburgh Advisors

 

 
Boating Advisers - vacant - their aim is to arrange and organise boating within the county for the adults and the girls.  Could you fill this role?  Please e-mail us for more information.

 

The training team consists of:

Rosemary - Team Leader - for the Training side of the newly formed Programme and Training Team and who is also Commissioner Tutor Support - organises training and support for commissioner mentors

 

  Pat - Commissioner Training - organises training for commissioners, including Commissioners weekends and sessions at County Day Trainings.  Also holds regular Commissioner Support Meetings

 

 Sue - Trainer Support - looks after the Trainers.  There are currently 4 trainer sin the County and 1 prospective trainer.  Keeps up with Region initiatives for trainers.

Our Prospective Trainer is: Janet

 Carol - Guider Training - organises training for all Guiders, including County Training Days, First Response and Mentoring.  Trainings can be arranged specifically for Guiders from a particular section or Division or District on request.

 

 
Rachel - Leadership Coordinator - heads up a team responsible for introducing a new Guider to her relevant section of Guiding and appoints a personal Mentor to work with the Guider.  There will soon be a team of Area Leadership Co-ordinators who will give even more support to the training process and enable a new Guider to be allotted her Mentor as quickly as possible after her references have been cleared.   

Anne is the Leadership co-ordinator for Arun and Bognor Divisions.  More appointments to be made soon. 

Janet - Rainbow Adviser - sends out a newsletter to all Rainbow Guiders and is happy to provide advice to Rainbow Guiders about what they can (and can't) do.  Attends Regional meetings on behalf of Rainbow Guiders. 
Mel - Brownie Adviser -provides advice and communication - especially with the programme review, and has been involved with Pilot Projects.   Attends Regional meetings and channels information to and from Brownie Guiders.   
Julie - Guide Adviser - provides advice about anything and everything to do with the Guide programme! 

 

 

Katie - Senior Section Adviser - Young Leaders

Jo - Senior Section Adviser - Communications

The above also work with the Queen's Guide Co-ordinator, Youth Forum members and the DofE adviser to form the Senior Section Committee.  The committee assist all Senior Section members in a wide range of activities and opportunities. 
 
The Senior Section runs effectively with the involvement of all members, and is able to accommodate the variety of requests and suggestions for activities and projects that members wish to be involved in.  Meetings for all Senior Section members are held every term and there is an opportunity to become involved with the organisation and planning of activities which helps make Sussex West Senior Section an enjoyable section to be involved with.
 
Anne - Adviser for Members with Disabilities - assists girls become aware of disabilities and how to deal with them.  Helps to place girls in units and provides help and guidance with some of the less obvious difficulties that may cause problems - so please do contact her.  

Why not have a night off - Anne will willingly run a meeting on a variety of disability issues explained through games and activities using multi-sensory experiences - for all age groups.
