WS 2017


David and Debbie Phillips have been appointed as the Camp Chiefs for WS2017. 

David is the GSL for 5th Chichester Scouts and Debbie a Leader with 3rd Chichester Guides. Both have attended many WS Camps, first attending in 1980 as a Scout and a Guide, as Unit Leaders for 1988, 1996 and 2001, in 2004 as Sub Camp Leaders for Dodge City and as the organisers of the City and Camelot, the Camp Centres for WS2008 and WS2013.

During 2015, they met with and formed their Core Team and in 2016 will met regularly as a Team to organise the International activities camp – WS2017.

Leaflets were taken to International Guide and Scout Camps and Events and the International Team have been working hard to publicize the Camp Worldwide, which has so far resulted in confirmed registrations from the USA, Australia and Ireland. The Registration Team have also been busy and there are already 66 West Sussex groups registered along with 35 Adult volunteers.

The WS website and Facebook page having been operating for several months. The website includes both the registration forms for groups and Adults and lots of information about the camp and Facebook gives you the opportunity to keep updated and join in the conversations. 

These will be updated regularly, as further information and forthcoming dates are released.

  • Thursday 28th April 2017 - Littlehampton Girlguiding Centre Duke St Littlehampton BN17 6EU
  • Wednesday 4th May 2017 - 4th Worth Scout HQ, Hazelwick Avenue Crawley RH10 1NP

Both evenings start at 1930 hours & will be over by 2130 hours the latest.

Please help us to make WS2017 another successful Camp by either registering with your Guide or Scout Group or volunteer for one of the many Adult roles and we hope to see you at Ardingly in August 2017.


County Training Programme 2017 


This year we have produced a training booklet that contains everything you need to know about the Trainings on offer in 2017. Every Unit, District and Division should have received a copy. 

Please click on the attachment for the Training programme, which includes full details of the courses available, dates and venues. 
We have created two booking forms. One can be printed and hand written on and the other version can be typed on and either printed or you can save and email to Training Admin.  
These documents are password protected and this has been circulated in e-news.
