This was launched at the Region Advisers Day on 7th March. Badges will be available from the County Badge Secretary. It is open to everyone from Rainbows to Trefoil. The challenges can be varied slightly to suit your needs as long as you stick to the aim of the particular section. This challenge is not retrospect, so anything done before March 7th 2009 does not count. The Region Walking Advisers are working on a resources pack that will be available on the LaSER website soon. For a full syllabus, please see Raspberry Ripple. click here

For a source of inspirations, ideas and activities to run a whole evening based on one of Guiding’s traditions try Sanderstead Ranger Unit’s Campfire Challenge.
It is suitable for all sections and can be gained with or without creating a real fire. It would be an ideal challenge to do in a unit meeting or on a pack holiday or camp.
The challenge booklet is free to download from www.girlguidingcroydon.org.uk/drupal/node/38. It includes a 4 page pullout of campfire songs and some ready-to-copy word games.
There are four categories: fire, blanket, food and singing. Activities include learning to light a match, starting a badge blanket, making a campfire songbook and making edible campfires. Embroidered badges cost £1 and enamel badges £1.75.
