SOUTHWICK TREFOIL GUILD

Ashcroft, Kingston Lane, Southwick.  We meet on the 2nd Monday in the month from 7.15pm to 9.15pm

Currently, we now have twenty-five members.

Having designed our very own logo, (see top of web page) all members have purchased Polo shirts with the Southwick and Trefoil logos. They all look very smart and can be identified very easily when we attend a Guiding event or an outing

The Guild has had another very busy and interesting six months.

April     Very enjoyable tour of the new RNLI Life Boat Station at Shoreham, two hours was spent being shown the new Life Boat and the station. A very interesting evening and well worth the visit.

.

May      A real fun evening with a Quiz which was enjoyed by the ladies and a chance to catch up on gossip.

May  “Tramps Evening” at Worthing finishing up with a Tramp Supper.

June      BBQ at Streamside Camp site (Adur). The BBQ of burgers and sausages etc went down well finishing with a camp fire.

June    BBQ with Seahaven Trefoil (Seaford), at their camp site Sealark. An excellent day was had and enjoyed at a lovely site near Seaford Head.

June   What is now our annual Day Camp at Hillside Scout Camp.  A 10am start with our  County Commissioner Annabel Gray opening the camp with the breaking of the Trefoil flag. The theme this year was of Robin Hood and his “Merry Women” which proved to be a success. The “Merry Women” made cannon balls, bows and arrows and ballisters and a lot more. Friar Tuck’s lunch was a success with everyone.

The day continued with various games, ending with a Robin Hood tea.

It was a long day but the ladies really enjoyed it and many photos were taken. Hope one or two will be published in the Trefoil Mag. and County Matters.

July   All members visited Rustington Guild’s camp fire. The ladies were in very good voice.

August  A lunch out at Highdown Worthing which really was very nice and certainly good value for money. After lunch several of the ladies explored the gardens which really are beautiful.

September  A talk from Canine Partners, this was about dogs which help disabled persons unable to go about their everyday life. Fetching, collecting items and operating simple equipment.  In fact anything which a paw, a nose and a tail wag can do..

Included in our next six month programme, we will be celebrating Southwick Trefoil’s twentieth birthday… this is a surprise !!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make our Trefoil what it is.

Anne.
