All
adult leaders should hold a current first aid qualification. If you hold a Guide
Association qualification (e.g. First Response) it must be renewed every 3 years
to remain current. First Aid or Emergency Aid qualifications from other
bodies are acceptable qualifications provided that they cover the syllabus
required by the Guide Association — for more information speak to your
Commissioner or see appendix 2 of the Leadership Qualification (2000).
What do we mean by First Response
This is a syllabus set by Girlguiding UK details of which are shown in the Adult Leadership Training Scheme book plus other publications. One of the main features that makes it different from 'First Aid at Work' or other recognised training is that it includes child resuscitation.
The certificate is only valid for three years.
New
A one day course is offered to all new guiders on the Adult Leadership Scheme, plus those with an existing qualification which has expired
Renewal
This training is for approximately two hours depending on the number of questions raised.
Who can attend

Note
For those with a delicate disposition we run special sessions. Please contact the training team and discuss.
