The new Chichester Division consists of 5 Districts:
Regnum District
Stane District
Bourne District
Cakeham & Roman Way District
Manhood District
Regnum Rainbows - entertained us with their very own version of Calendar Girls!
Cakeham and Roman Way District - visited Staunton Country Park for a special Christmas themed day out - on what turned out to be the wettest and coldest day of December but an absolutely resounding success.
Bourne District - held a very successful Christmas craft weekend/sleepover, although the guiders were told off by the girls for not settling down at bedtime!
Chichester Division finally got in to Guiding magazine - page 18 of January's issue - in the article 'Two small words', which is about the importance of saying Thank You.
Young Citizens Award - Laura, who has just finished her Adult Leadership Qualification, was nominated for this award for providing one to one support for Lily, one of our girls who has Downs Syndrome, to enable her to not only take an increasingly active part in all the activities offered to her as a Brownie and now as a Guide at weekly meetings, but more importantly from her families point of view, on day trips out, activities outside of the weekly meeting place, a sleepover, and soon a weekend camp at Lodge Hill. Laura was successful in her nomination and was presented with her award by the Mayor of Chichester at the Civic Ceremony in the Council House. She was thrilled to be entertained afterwards in the Mayor's Parlour where she was presented with her Guiding warrant.
Plans ahead - Garden Friends for the Elderly, our community project, is to be piloted by Stane District with a view to going Division wide in 2009. Following on from the success of Pink and Fluffy last year a Division Fun and Games / PR afternoon is planned for the summer - title of which yet to be decided. Plans by our guiders to visit our WS visitors from Michigan in 2009 are steaming ahead - all we need now are some girls to join us.
